ADMINISTRATION DIVISION

MAIN FUNCTION :

  • General administration work and human resource management

ACTIVITIES :

  • Implementation/Enforcement of Ordinances, by-laws, policies and government circulars
  • Management of meetings
  • Personnel management
    • Staff recruitment, discipline, retirement, resignation, etc.
    • Recording/Updating of service record
    • Staff training
  • Mail registry
  • Managing Reading rooms/Village libraries
  • Public Relations

TREASURY DIVISION

MAIN FUNCTION:

  • Revenue collection and accounting work

ACTIVITIES:

  • Revenue Collection
    • Collection of assessment rates, miscellaneous licences and SBBS bills
    • Receiving recurrent grant, development grant from the state government
  • Accounting work
    • Update receipts of payment in general ledger
    • Process monthly payroll
    • Process payment voucher and cheque
    • Reconciliation of monthly bank statement
    • Preparation of annual account

RATING AND VALUATION DIVISION

MAIN FUNCTION:

  • Referencing, valuation of rateable holdings and levying of assessment rates

ACTIVITIES:

  • Referencing of rateable holdings
  • Valuation work
  • House numbering
  • Maintenance of property records
  • Processing of assessment rates bills
  • Collecting/Management of payment of assessment rates
  • Recovery of arrears of rates

ENGINEERING DIVISION

MAIN FUNCTION:

  • Provide, maintain and upgrade infrastructure, amenities and public services

ACTIVITIES:

  • Providing, maintaining and upgrading of roads, drains, footpath, culvert, bridges, jetties, buildings, Council facilities, e.g. public toilets, bus stops etc.
  • Implementing of projects
  • Street lighting
  • Mechanical maintenance of Council vehicles and machinery
  • Checking/approving building, civil and engineering plans
  • Management of Council's workshop and store

PUBLIC HEALTH AND SERVICES DIVISION

MAIN FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain and improve the standard of cleanliness in MPP areas
  • Control the spread of infectious diseases
  • Licensing and enforcement of miscellaneous occupations

ACTIVITIES:

  • Scavenging services
  • Drain clearing
  • Licensing
  • Catching of stray dogs
  • Food sampling
  • Vector control
  • Control of hawking activities
  • Grass Cutting
  • Desludging services
  • Inspection of building plan, road and drainage construction
  • Maintenance of Council's markets and hawkers centres

ENFORCEMENT DIVISION

MAIN FUNCTION :
  • Enforcement of Council's Ordinance, By-Laws, Policies, other legislations and Goverment Directive
 
ACTIVITIES :
  • Implementation / Enforcement of legislations.
  • Processing applications for display of banner and buntings
  • Prevention of illegal trading / hawking

LANDSCAPE AND BEAUTIFICATION DIVISION

MAIN FUNCTION :

  • Provide, maintain, upgrade, develope and beautify the area in the jurisdiction of Padawan Municipal Council for landscaping purposes

ACTIVITIES:

  • Providing, maintaining, upgrading and beautifying of landscaped areas.
  • Implementing and planning of landscape projects.
  • Managing and enhancement of landscaped area.
  • Providing of cutting and trimming service to the public.
  • Organizing tree planting campaign in Padawan Municipal Council area with community involvement.
  • Developing of new public areas, open spaces, recreational parks and other landscaped areas for landscaping purposes.
  • Tourism Heritage management
