Padawan River Safari 2008

INTRODUCTION:
Picture yourself on a bamboo raft with family or friends cruising down a river and surrounded by the beautiful scenery of nature all the way. That’s basically what the Padawan-River Safari 2008 is about, a chance to get close to nature, enjoy its wealth and possibly win attractive prizes too! Comprising of both bamboo rafts and kayak categories, the event is divided into Men, Ladies Open and Government Department, Hotel and Tours Agencies for rafting while the Kayak is an open category only to be held on 26 October 2008 starting at Kampung Danu and ending at Kampung Git, a distance of appoximately 26km along the river.
The main reason why many participants come back for this river safari is the great scenery and chance to get close up to nature along the ride down the river. With dense forest lining either side of the river bank, the huge outcrops of rock at various stretches of the river are a marvel to see. The water is relatively clean and of varying depths and participants can experience the Giam Rapids as part of the river ride. It would be very difficult and costly for anyone to experience this river ride on their own. So this safari is the opportune time to enjoy nature’s bounty here.
Jointly organised by the Padawan Municipal Council, Ministry of Social Development and Urbanization, this year’s race promises even more fun with a host of other activites. There will be an open sale at Kampung Git on 26th October,2008 while cultural shows and Poco-Poco Competition will be held at Kampung Git for the entertainment of the participants.

Register yourself or team at Padawan Municipal Council today as the event is on a first come first served basis and there is a limit to the number of teams eligible to participate.
