BACKGROUND

Majlis Perbandaran Padawan was selected as the host of this year’s State Level Tree Planting Programme to commemorate the 45th Anniversary of Sarawak’s Independence in Malaysia. Programme organised in collaboration with SABATI. The ceremony held at Bandar Baru Batu Kawah. The Concept is “1000 plantings in 1 morning”

OBJECTIVE

Commemorate the 45th Anniversary of Sarawak’s Independence in Malaysia;
Create a beautiful, healthy & safe environment;
Encourage community participation in greening the environment;

1. Eugenia oleina (PM tree) :600 trees
2. Tamarindus indica (Asam jawa) 50 trees
3. Tabebuia pentapylla (Trumpet tree) 50 trees
4. Michelia champaca (Cempaka putih) 50 trees
5. Mesua ferrea (Ironwood tree) 50 trees
6. Melaleuca cajuputi (Gelam) 50 trees
7. Filicium decipiens (Fern tree) 50 trees
8. Syzygium aromaticum (Chengkeh) 50 trees
9. Hopea odorata (Chengal pasir) 50 trees
